Motorcyclist dead after hit-and-run in Gibsonton

A motorcyclist has died after a hit-and-run crash in Gibsonton Wednesday night, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

According to HCSO, at 7:30 p.m. a man riding a motorcycle and an unknown vehicle were involved in a crash at Symmes Road and Southwind Lake Drive.

The person driving the vehicle fled from the scene of the crash.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital where they later died, according to HCSO.

Detectives are asking for the community’s help in identifying the vehicle that fled from the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call 813-247-8200.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
