The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) has confirmed that a motorcyclist died Saturday evening in a crash on East University Avenue.
GPD spokesperson Brandon Hatzel said officers responded to a motorcycle-truck collision around 11:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of East University.
The truck was crossing traffic in a northbound direction when it was struck by the motorcycle, which was traveling east on University.
The motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased on the scene, and no other injuries were reported.
Hatzel said GPD has not issued any traffic citations related to the accident. He said no other details are available until GPD has completed next of kin notifications.
