A 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed Wednesday after a crash with another vehicle in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 5 p.m. at Glenwood and Wilmhurst roads in the DeLand area.
According to a crash report, a 2003 Honda Accord driven by a 73-year-old DeLand woman was at a stop sign and attempted a left turn onto Glenwood Road.
The vehicle went into the direct path of a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling west on Glenwood Road.
Troopers said the woman “failed to yield from the stop sign” and the motorcycle collided with the vehicle.
The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The motorcyclist, a DeLand man, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to troopers, the man was not wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation.
