A man was shot and killed in a Lehigh Acres shooting that was deemed self-defense early Saturday morning.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a shooting at Countess Avenue at approximately 3:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, deputies located a man who was shot lying in front of the residence.
The man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Deputies says that during the preliminary investigation, it was learned the caller was sitting in their parked car waiting to leave for work when the decedent approached and opened the car door.

LCSO says the case and investigation remain active at this time.
“Everyone deserves to feel safe on their own property. The homeowner exercised their right
to protect themself, which unfortunately resulted in a loss of a life today,” said Sheriff
