Pedestrian hit, killed by pickup truck on Beach Boulevard: Florida Highway Patrol

A 68-year-old woman died Tuesday night after she was hit by a truck while crossing Beach Boulevard near St. Johns Bluff Road in Jacksonville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the pickup truck was headed west on Beach Boulevard in the outer lane around 10 p.m. when the woman tried to cross the road and stepped in the truck’s path.

Troopers said the woman was hit and died at the hospital.

The 38-year-old man driving the truck was not hurt, FHP said. The report did not indicate if he was wearing a seat belt.
