A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car while trying to cross a street on Thursday morning, according to police.
The Tampa Police Department responded to the crash on Nebraska Avenue just after 5:30 a.m.
Officials said a man in his late 20s was trying to cross North Nebraska Avenue, just south of East Bougainvillea Avenue, outside of a crosswalk.
That’s when a Hyundai Santa Fe, traveling southbound, struck the man.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Police said the driver cooperated with police and was not cited.
The crash is still under investigation.
