Pedestrian struck, killed in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. —

One person is dead after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in West Palm Beach early Tuesday morning.

A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report notes a vehicle, an Acura car, was traveling westbound on State Road 80 (Southern Boulevard) and approaching Kirk Road at 5:38 a.m. A woman was crossing the westbound lanes of Southern Boulevard at the intersection of Kirk Road.

According to the report, the pedestrian crossed into the path of the vehicle, which led to a collision.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue on the scene, while the driver and a passenger in the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
