A 44-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a car Sunday morning in Delray Beach.
According to Palm Beach County Sheriff, Caryn Lynn Chomsky was running near Atlantic Avenue and Florida’s Turnpike around 7 a.m. when she was struck by 20-year-old Myles Denard Scott.
Scott was driving a 2019 Honda Civic westbound on Atlantic Avenue towards the turnpike.
At some point, Scott veered off the road and hit Chomsky who was walking on the sidewalk.
Chomsky was thrown onto the hood and windshield of Scott’s car.
Scott drifted off the road and into a ditch.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue pronounced Chomsky dead at the scene.
