A school crossing guard was arrested Monday after a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigation into a Sunday morning hit-and-run crash in Northwest Jacksonville.
On Sunday around 11 a.m., police said witnesses saw a Nissan sedan hit a man at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and New Kings Road.
The driver did not pull over after the crash. The witnesses also provided police with a potential tag number.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
JSO said it found the vehicle involved in the crash at C B’s home.
B, who was a part-time crossing guard since 2018, was arrested.
She also resigned from her position after the arrest.
