ll southbound lanes of the Turnpike were closed in Palm Beach Gardens shortly before rush hour and traffic had backed up for miles becauseof the wreck.
The Florida 511 map shows the crash happened at the S.R. 710/Bee Line Highway interchange, south of Northlake Boulevard shortly before 3 p.m. Within an hour, cars were lined up past the PGA Boulevard/ S.R. 786 exit, approximately two miles down the road.
By 4:30 p.m., drivers were able to slowly navigate around the scene.
No details about the incident have been released so far, but authorities say at least one person was injured. Video from the scene showed a semi and van that were both heavily damaged, as well as another vehicle that was overturned.
