A police department employee faces charges after confidential databases allegedly were accessed to provide information to a man who used it to commit a crime.
Robin Conyers, 59, was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on June 13. She has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of criminal charges.
The department said Conyers’ supervisor noticed entries that were not work-related during a routine quarterly audit. Detectives said she shared information on the deceased owner of a vehicle to Delon Walton, who then used the information to fraudulently transfer the title of the vehicle to his own company. Walton was arrested last month on various charges.
Conyers is charged with misuse of confidential information, offenses against computer users and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
