A St. Petersburg woman was injured early Saturday morning after a tree branch fell on her, police said.
The St. Petersburg Police Department said at 6 a.m., a branch from an oak tree broke off and hit two houses.
When the woman went outside to see what happened, a second, larger branch crushed her, pinning her to the sidewalk.
However, firefighters were able to get the woman out, and she was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, 15th Avenue South is closed between 30th and 31st Street while the branch is removed.
