A St. Petersburg teacher was arrested on Saturday after investigators said he slapped a 4-year-old child in the school’s bathroom on Friday.
St. Petersburg police said Calvin Robinson took a 4-year-old to a bathroom after the child was “acting out.” Officers said Robinson hit the child “with an open hand multiple times.”
The child complained about the incident to school staff, according to an arrest affidavit.
St. Pete police said there is a video from security cameras inside the school of the incident. However, the video has not been released.
Police said Robinson worked at a Head Start on Fairfield Avenue South. It is not known if he still works there.
Court records show that Robinson bonded out of jail.
