Teen hospitalized after crashing into Pasco school bus carrying 42 children

A 16-year-old is in the hospital after he struck the back of a school bus while riding a motorcycle on Monday, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) announced.

Around 3:22 p.m., the Odessa teen was traveling on a Kawasaki motorcycle east on Trinity Boulevard when a Pasco County bus carrying 42 middle school students stopped at a pedestrian crosswalk signal east of Sweetspire Drive.

FHP said the 16-year-old could not stop the motorcycle in time and collided with the back of the bus.

The teen was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to FHP.

The 62-year-old bus driver and the 42 middle school students were unharmed.
