A teenage girl was injured Monday morning when a suspect shot multiple times at the car she was in outside of a hotel in Southpoint, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
According to JSO, the girl and two other people had just checked out of the hotel on Salisbury Road when another car pulled alongside, and someone started shooting.
Police said the suspect fired at least 17 shots at the car.
The girl was hit in the shoulder and is expected to recover. The other car occupants were not injured, according to police.
No arrests have been made.
JSO said it is in the process of looking for surveillance video of the suspect car.
