Teen on scooter struck by car near Deerfield Beach High School

A 15-year-old boy was rushed to a hospital Wednesday morning after authorities confirmed he was struck by a car while riding a scooter in Deerfield Beach.

It happened near the 1050 block of Southwest 15th Street, just outside Deerfield Beach High School.

Sky 10 was above the scene around 12:35 p.m. as the blue car was parked on the far-right lane of the roadway with damage to its windshield.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue confirmed the teen suffered a broken femur following the crash and received a blood infusion due to his injuries.

The teen’s identity and exact condition have not yet been released and no other injuries have been reported at this time.
