Washington County woman killed in traffic crash on State Road 79

On Tuesday, a woman was killed in a traffic crash in Washington County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 10:25 p.m. on State Road 79 and Charlie Brown Road.

The woman was traveling north on the inside lane of Highway 79 when she veered onto the median and lost control, officials said.

The pick-up truck rolled over several times coming to a rest in a grassy median, officials wrote in a news release.

The Washington County Fire Rescue, Washington County EMS, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.

Officials confirmed the woman was pronounced dead when first responders arrived.
