Woman, 21, faces 2 attempted murder charges in Broward

Khydeeja McBride was 18 when she was accused of domestic violence in Miramar. About three years later, she is back in Broward County jail facing more serious charges.

County court records show prosecutors filed a first-degree felony case against McBride, 21, on Wednesday. Records show Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies booked McBride on Tuesday after Sunrise police officers arrested her on Monday on two counts of attempted murder.

According to the arrest report, the targets were two 15-year-old boys who were not injured. Officer Natesha Williams reported surveillance video showed McBride following a Nissan Rogue that one of the teens allegedly took from his mother without permission.

“The defendant went beyond mere preparation by driving the vehicle that chased the victim’s vehicle throughout the neighborhood while an occupant fired his weapon at the same time,” Williams wrote in the report. “This intentional act could have but did not cause the death of the victims.”

Williams reported the teen’s mother noticed bullet damage on her car and took her son to the police department to report the early morning May 4 shooting on May 5. Williams identified McBride’s co-conspirator as Jaccari Gethers.

Broward inmate county records show BSO deputies were holding McBride without bond on Thursday at the North Broward Bureau in Pompano Beach. Records did not show Gethers was in custody.

McBride has an arrest record. According to a 2021 arrest form in the domestic violence case, McBride was accused of attacking a minor over eating her food in Miramar. The case was dropped. Court records show Broward County Circuit Judge George Odom, Jr. was set to preside over McBride’s new case.
