Woman calls 911 after attack by boyfriend previously charged with violence

An Orlando man was arrested for battery after allegedly hitting his girlfriend multiple times, violating a restraining order in the process.

A deputy received a 911 call stating there was a disturbance turned physical happening at an undisclosed Astatula location around 3:31 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. While the caller was on the phone, a male was heard in the background yelling, “I will kill her.”

Investigation showed that 33-year-old D S L and his girlfriend of several years, the victim, were Ubered to the location on Sunday and spent the night there together. On Monday, they argued all day. Just before the 911 call, both were fighting with each other when L struck the victim multiple times, the report said.

The victim tried to defend herself when she was hit in the face by an unknown object, resulting in a gash over her left eye. While on scene, EMTs stated she would need stitches, the report said.

L was later discovered hiding inside a bathroom cabinet. He was read his rights, which he said he understood and agreed to waive. He denied touching or causing injury but did admit that both were arguing with each other. He also admitted they arrived by Uber the day before and stated they spent the night and day together. He could not explain how the victim got her injury, the report said.

L was then asked about the no contact order from Orange County. He confirmed his awareness of it and that he was arrested in November. He was recently released, the report said.

As a result, L was arrested and charged with domestic aggravated battery causing bodily harm and violation injunction domestic violence. He was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $60,000.
