A woman died in a shooting early Tuesday morning in Tampa.
Tampa police responded to the 1700 block of West St. Joseph Street at 5:45 a.m. for a report of gunshots.
A woman in her mid-30s was found with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The suspect left the area after the shooting. Police said the suspect and victim knew each other and the shooting was not a random act.
Tampa police said detectives are working to identify those involved in the shooting and what led up to the incident.
