The Panama City Police Department responded to an accident involving a car and pedestrian on Highway 231 near the County Road 2321 intersection Monday morning.
Officers responded to the accident around 9:20 a.m.
Law enforcement tells NewsChannel 7 that a car was traveling north on HWY. 231 when they swerved onto the shoulder.
When the car swerved officers said they hit a worker near a manhole and the back of a trailer parked on the side of the road.
The man that was hit had incapacitating injuries and was taken to the hospital but officials say he is expected to survive.
The driver reportedly had no injuries.
The accident is still under investigation.
