Firefighters responded to a one-story building on Wednesday morning in Fort Lauderdale’s Homes Beautiful Park area.
According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, there was a fire in an apartment along Northwest 12 Avenue, near Eighth Street.
A senior was in the apartment and made it out safely. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
The Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Department later released video from the ground showing smoke billowing out from the back of the building.
