 A drug raid in Okeechobee County led to the arrest of two people on child abuse charges. Two toddlers were removed from a house in Okeechobee on Tuesday, where deputies found fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia. The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) said the target of the investigation was 23-year-old Antonio Bartell Jr. It started when concerned citizens reported that Bartell wasdistributing crack cocaine, cocaine, marijuana, fentanyl, and other illegal narcotics from his residence at 4026 Hwy. 441

A 34-year-old bicyclist was hit and killed in a crash Wednesday morning in Escambia County, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. FHP states the bicyclist — a Pensacola man — was travellingon Chemstrand Road towardthe intersection of Breezy Acres Road around 6 a.m. He was not wearing any reflective clothing and the rear of his bike was without a red light, according to FHP.  A 28-year-old woman was shot in the abdomen on Wednesday in Hialeah, police said. According to the Hialeah Police Department, “an accidental discharge” at a home near the James Silas Walker Community Center, at 800 W 29 St., was to blame. According to Lt. Eddie Rodriguez, a spokesman for HPD, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel flew a helicopter to Walker Park to rescue the woman. A man in his 60s was killed early Wednesday morning after he was struck by a car while walking on a Jacksonville street. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the man was pushing a moped-on Garden Street, not far from the Dinsmore neighborhood, just before 1 a.m. A driver who was heading eastbound on Garden Street didn’t see the man and struck him, JSO said. A woman has died after being struck by a Tri-Rail Southbound train in Delray Beach. The Delray Beach Police Department (DBPD) stated that on Wednesday morning, at around 8:00 a.m., a train struck a woman at the Tri-Rail track at Southwest 10th Street. The crash happened just before 7 p.m. in Marathon. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said it appears a 2018 Yamaha personal watercraft struck a seawall. The operator and passenger, a 47-year-old man and aa 9-year-old boy, both from Miami, died from their injuries, FWC officials said. Their identities haven’t been released.
