A Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured after being struck by a suspect’s vehicle. The incident happened Thursday afternoon, sometime before 3, when deputies responded to Best Buy at Page Field Commons regarding three subjects involved in a theft ring. On arrival, the K-9 deputy attempted to restrain one of the suspects as they tried to flee in a vehicle, during which, the suspect struck the deputy with the car. According to LCSO, the deputy suffered minor injuries and will be OK.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a 46-year-old man from Live Oak was riding a bicycle when he was hit and killed. Troopers say around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, a pickup truck was headed west on U.S. Highway 90. The cyclist was also headed west in the bicycle lane.
