Three people were found dead after an airboat capsized near the Kissimmee River on Monday, officials said. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said a total of seven people were on the airboat when the incident happened. One person was killed Monday after a small plane crashed in a remote part of Polk County. Sheriff Grady Judd said the plane went down around 8 p.m. in a cow pasture about a mile off Moore Road. According to the Sarasota Police Department, the crash happened near the intersection of Nancy Street and Euclid Avenue. Investigators say the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, failed to make a turn and drove into a ditch. After the crash, the driver was able to get out of the vehicle. Shortly afterward, the car caught fire.

Firefighters responded to a mobile home fire early Saturday morning in Ellenton. According to the North River Fire District, crews were called to a working fire in the 4300 block of 12th Street Court East. Firefighters arrived on scene and began battling the fire alongside Manatee County Public Safety Department EMS. Officials said crews got water on the fire and were assisting one patient at the scene. The fire district later reported the situation was under control by 4:48 a.m.
