Multiple first-responder agencies responded to a deadly crash on State Road 24 near the Alachua-Levy county line on Friday morning. Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the crash happened on State Road 24, also known as Archer Road and Thrasher Drive, around 7 a.m. near the county line. Troopers say a pickup truck heading west on the state road rear-ended a truck slowing down to make a turn. The pickup truck driver, a 30-year-old man from Bronson, died in the crash.

Medics took five people to area hospitals after a crash Friday morning on Northeast 163rd Street in North Miami Beach. One victim later died, according to police. The crash happened near Northeast 34th Avenue. According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, three of the victims were taken to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital’s trauma center, while two victims with minor injuries were taken to an unnamed local hospital. CSX said that two contractors were injured Friday at its Jacksonville Intermodal Yard when a crane collapsed and both were taken to the hospital. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department told News4JAX it transported two adults with critical injuries. CSX sent a statement to News4JAX about the accident. According to police, the incident was reported at 7:27 a.m. in the area of Northeast Miami Avenue and 80th Terrace. Police said the victim was stabbed during an armed robbery in which his wallet was stolen. The victim was transported by Miami Fire Rescue medics to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Firefighters responded to the 8000 block of Bluestar Circle, where a caller had reported smoke and flames coming from a house.
