Around 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to Chesham Drive, not far from Dean and McCulloch roads. OCSO said on arrival, deputies located a man who had been shot. He died at the scene, the agency said. Multiple people were taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a Clearwater police vehicle that was stopped helping a disabled vehicle. According to Rob Shaw, the Clearwater Police spokesperson, the officer was stopped to help around 11 p.m. Thursday when another car crashed into his police vehicle on the Courtney Campbell Causeway.
