A man wanted in a Westside murder is now in custody. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Friday the arrest of Husani L. Williams. They say Husani Williams, 46, stabbed Alan Williams, 63, to death on September 13, 2022, on 103rd Street. He was a suspect early in the investigation. The victim and the suspect have the same last name, however, it’s unclear at this point whether they are related. A fire overnight Thursday in Orange County damaged two mobile homes, according to firefighters. Crews responded to Downey Cove Drive, located in the now-abandoned Lake Downey Mobile Home Park off Dean Road south of State Road 50. No injuries have been reported and no other details have been shared. News 6 was last at the mobile home park in February, reporting on its deteriorated condition and on how the county is reviewing plans to build hundreds of multi-family apartment units there.

A motorcycle with two occupants was traveling south on Telephone Road in Pascagoula Thursday afternoon. A a full-size, single occupant, SUV  then struck the motorcycle at approximately 12:08pm. The collision ejected the two on the motorcycle causing severe injuries. All three individuals involved were transported to Singing River Hospital Emergency Room. A 21-year-old Sarasota man was killed Thursday when his motorcycle crashed on State Road 72 near Myakka River State Park, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Investigators say the motorcyclist was traveling east on State Road 72, east of Myakka Valley Trail, at about 12:30 p.m. when he lost control. The rider fell off the bike, which traveled off the roadway and came to rest on the grass shoulder ditch. The motorcyclist died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

A 26-year-old was arrested Thursday in the killing of a man who was found dead last month inside a Melbourne home, according to police. Chase Michael Willson Smith is accused of killing Kenneth Johnson, 32, who was found on Feb. 24 inside his home on McDermott Avenue. Smith faces charges of first-degree premeditated murder and grand theft. He is booked in the Brevard County jail. No other details, including how the victim was killed, have been released. A 71-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in south Fort Myers Thursday afternoon. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a sedan was headed south on Metro Parkway on the left turn lane. At around 3:48 p.m., the sedan turned in front of an approaching truck. The truck crashed into the side of the sedan.
