ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision in Escambia County on Wednesday evening. Florida Highway Patrol says the Pensacola man was fatally struck while traveling westbound on Interstate 10 at around 5 p.m. He was driving a blue Suzuki GSXR motorcycle. It was at mile marker 10 where a Hyundai Tucson traveling beside the motorcyclist left its lane, according to FHP. The vehicle then hit the motorcycle, causing the rider to crash into a guardrail.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A sailboat crashed into a power line in San Carlos Bay, causing a power surge Wednesday evening. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, a 42-foot sailboat with two occupants hit a power line in San Carlos Bay. The boat sustained minor damage, and the occupants were uninjured.
