Miami-Dade correctional officers were holding a 20-year-old man accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl, records showed Sunday afternoon. Correctional officers booked Elijah Nathan Jean-Gilles, who turns 21 later this month, shortly after 1:40 a.m., on Saturday, county inmate records show. A city of Miami firefighter is recovering in the hospital after having a medical emergency while training. According to Miami Fire Rescue, the firefighter, who has not been identified, was conducting a SWAT medic training on the Rickenbacker Causeway on Tuesday afternoon when the medical emergency occurred. Detective Victor Manuel Montalvo crashed the unmarked Miami-Dade Police Department car he was driving into a marked police cruiser while driving drunk, according to his colleagues. The crash was shortly after 12:40 p.m., on Tuesday in the area of Southwest 72 Street, better known as Sunset Drive, and 144 Avenue in Kendale Lakes, according to his colleagues.
