A man is in critical condition after an incident at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach on Monday. According to the West Palm Beach Police Department, an eight-foot long 2×4 fell from a church roof and hit the man in the head. A Marathon pastor is facing serious charges after being accused of giving a teenager alcohol and molesting her while she was unconscious. Monte Chitty, 62, a pastor at First Baptist Church, faces charges of sexual battery, lewd and lascivious behavior, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to jail records from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. An anonymous caller reported overhearing a girl telling another adult that she had been raped, deputies said Monday in a news release.

A woman was hit and killed in Manatee County on Saturday after she walked in front of an SUV, authorities said. The SUV, driven by a 61-year-old Bradenton man, was traveling northbound on 9 th Street East, north of 301 Boulevard East, at about 10:45 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the female pedestrian walked across the southbound lanes of 9 th Street East and into the path of the SUV.
