Deputies: 1 dead after hit and run in Polk County

A man was killed after he tried to cross State Road 60 in Polk County on Saturday night. Maximino Amiltempa, 39, walked onto the road and was hit by a 59-year-old who was driving around 10 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of State Road 60 near Turner Road in Mulberry, according to deputies. She was unable to avoid hitting him and he suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 59-year-old woman showed no signs of impairment

A man and a woman were injured in a stabbing in the area of Carson Lakes Circle in Immokalee. The incident happened around 7:20 p.m. Friday. Body of man found in Brevard County Lake after two-day search

Update: FWC tells Channel 9 that the search today consisted of helicopters and sonars to locate the man. Brevard County and Orange County Sheriff’s offices assisted with FWC in search efforts. One dead after tractor-trailer crash on I-75 in Ocala

One person was reported dead Sunday night after a vehicle crash with a disabled tractor-trailer I-75 in Ocala. According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers, around 4 p.m. Sunday, FHP troopers were dispatched after a Dodge Challenger rear-ended a stopped tractor-trailer in the emergency lane on the southbound lane of I-75 near mile marker 359.
