A pedestrian was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash along SR-80 on Sunday. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 2:50 a.m., an unknown vehicle was driving along Palm Beach Boulevard, east of Miramar Road. A 20-year-old Fort Myers man was attempting to cross SR-80 when the front of the car crashed into him. He was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital. The car fled the scene after the crash. A 59-year-old pedestrian on State Road 70 Saturday night died when a vehicle struck him, state troopers say. The man was trying to cross the state road in Manatee County about 7:40 p.m. when a pickup, driven by a 37-year-old Bradenton man, hit him on the inside lane. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release. The crash remains under investigation.
