Multiple first-responder agencies responded to a deadly crash on State Road 24 near the Alachua-Levy county line on Friday morning. Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the crash happened on State Road 24, also known as Archer Road and Thrasher Drive, around 7 a.m. near the county line. Troopers say a pickup truck heading west on the state road rear-ended a truck slowing down to make a turn. The pickup truck driver, a 30-year-old man from Bronson, died in the crash.

Medics took five people to area hospitals after a crash Friday morning on Northeast 163rd Street in North Miami Beach. One victim later died, according to police. CSX said that two contractors were injured Friday at its Jacksonville Intermodal Yard when a crane collapsed and both were taken to the hospital.
