A Sweetwater man has been arrested after police said he attempted to stab a victim over a “work-related issue” that occurred last week. Two people were taken to the hospital after a Sunday crash involving a motorcycle and a car at the intersection of Lakewood Drive and Edgewater Drive. According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcycle operator and passenger were transported by ground to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Authorities say the driver of the car was found at fault in the crash. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, and officials confirmed there are no lingering hazards to the public.

Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at approximately 2:34 p.m. and reached the scene within four minutes, according to officials. A 55-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night on U.S. Highway 17 and Little Brown Church Road, according to Florida Highway Patrol. FHP said just after 9 p.m., the man was driving north on the 17 in an SUV when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed southbound lanes and was ejected. The SUV flipped and landed on top of the man, FHP said. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash is under investigation.

Two people were killed when a dispute at a bar in southwest Miami-Dade ended in gunfire Sunday night, according to authorities.   It happened around 9 p.m. at Glades Club, located at 18401 Southwest 256th Street, in the agricultural area known as Redland.
