Authorities arrested a 20-year-old Lauderhill man on Tuesday after they said he was behind the wheel in a deadly hit-and-run crash in January. According to the Lauderhill Police Department, the crash happened at around 8 p.m. on Jan. 20 at Northwest 31st Avenue and Broward Boulevard. According to TPA, at around 7:41 a.m., airport police received reports of an accident involving a construction equipment operator. The worker had been working onsite on the Airside A shuttle guideway renovation project. The worker died from his injuries, according to authorities. Blue Arrivals traffic was rerouted to Blue Express Arrivals momentarily as authorities investigated the accident but have since reopened.

A man from Bonita Springs has been arrested after allegedly driving under the influence and hitting multiple parked cars in Naples. North Collier Fire and Collier County EMS crews responded to the incident at 9:21 p.m. Tuesday. According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Jose Cornelio Soto reportedly sideswiped a vehicle on Immokalee Road and hit multiple parked cars inside the Amberton community before finally crashing into a tree on Dancing Wind Lane. Officials are investigating a drowning of a man while kayaking in North Lauderdale. Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) and North Lauderdale Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the scene of a possible drowning in the area of 871 SW 66th Ave in North Lauderdale just before 8 p.m., Tuesday. According to police, a 38-year-old man drowned while kayaking in a nearby canal. A body was seen being pulled out of the water as investigators taped off the area near the canal.

A man was killed in a deputy-involved shooting Saturday morning in Satsuma, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said it all started Friday night when they received two calls involving 31-year-old Phillip Allen Baldwin. The first call came at 11:30 a.m. from a woman on Shell Harbor Road who called “screaming for help” and referenced a carjacking, officials said. As deputies were responding to that call, a second call came around 12:36 a.m. involving a disturbance on North Second Street.

There is a law enforcement presence in New Hope after a suspect wanted in a late-night shooting barricaded himself inside a neighboring home off of Shell Point Road. Officials say the crash happened just after 9 p.m. on Mandalay Avenue at Papaya Street. According to Clearwater police, Don Carr was driving a 2005 Dodge Durango south in the northbound lanes when it collided with a 2024 Mazda SUV. An officer was shot while responding to an armed burglary on Hutchinson Island, according to the Fort Pierce Police Department (FPPD). FPPD reported that on Sunday morning, just before 6 a.m., officers responded to an armed burglary on Bayshore Drive near the Seaway Market & Deli. Fort Pierce Police Department Chief Diane Hobley-Burney said three officers responded. “We (FPPD) arrived approximately six minutes after the initial call was there. So we responded quickly,” said Chief Hobley-Burney. Upon arrival, officers stated
