A Crestview woman was charged with animal cruelty on Monday after taking her roommate’s pet jumping spider and drowning it in Ginger Ale, according to an arrest report. The arrest report states that 43-year-old Ilena Rasmussen texted her roommate and admitted to drowning the jumping spider after the roommate said she could not find her pet spider or its cage. A teenager was taken to jail overnight for allegedly shooting a driver in Orlando who crashed and died earlier this month.
