 Police are investigating a shooting in the Brownsville area of northwest Miami-Dade Thursday. It happened at around noon near Northwest 26th Avenue and 51st Street, according to police. The victim, a man, was hospitalized in critical condition. Nearby Brownsville Middle School was placed on lockdown. Video from Sky 10 showed one man being placed into a squad car. A fire erupted at a mobile home along Imperial Harbor Boulevard in Bonita Springs. The Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue District said the mobile home was “fully involved” with flames. According to fire officials, no one was home, the fire was put out and crews mopped up the scene. The State Fire Marshal said the fire was not suspicious and started in the porch’s sunroom.
