Georgia couple accused of child neglect after being found ‘heavily intoxicated,’ asleep on Daytona Beach

A young couple from Georgia was arrested Saturday afternoon after Volusia County deputies say they found them drunk and asleep in the sand in Daytona Beach, and their children were nowhere to be found. Police: 2 injured, airlifted after making ‘hard landing’ in Florida skydiving mishap

Two skydivers in Lake Wales were injured after landing off course, police say. According to the Lake Wales Police Department, emergency personnel responded to the downtown area around 3 p.m. on Monday in reference to a group of skydivers who had landed off course. Officials say they located three skydivers in the area between Seminole Avenue and Wiltshire Avenue along Scenic Highway. One skydiver was not injured, but police say two other skydivers made hard landings and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Motorcyclist killed in Kernan Boulevard crash.

 The 39th traffic fatality in Jacksonville this year happened on Monday night when a motorcyclist crashed into an SUV on Kernan Boulevard, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. JSO said around 8 p.m. a motorcyclist was riding north on Kernan Boulevard as an Acura SUV was traveling south on the same street. The SUV made a left turn on Ashley Melisse Boulevard, and the motorcyclist hit the SUV’s passenger side, according to JSO. The motorcycle driver died at the scene.

Traffic crash on Florida’s Turnpike causes major delays in Indian River County

Drivers are expected to see major delays after a crash brought northbound traffic to a halt on Florida’s Turnpike in Indian River County. According to Florida 511, the multi-vehicle crash occurred before Mile Marker 174, near the Fort Drum Wildlife Management Area, at 6:48 p.m. on Monday.  Traffic cameras show congestion in the area, semi-trucks and cars stuck bumper to bumper in the night. A man who allegedly watched a 13-year-old girl shower in her Coral Gables apartment has been arrested on voyeurism and other charges, police said. A Georgia woman died last week after she dropped an AirPod under a conveyor and got caught in a chain that moves the machine while reaching for it, authorities said. A 15-year-old girl died after a shooting in Cape Coral Sunday night, and the suspect(s) remain on the loose. Miami-Dade PD: Man fatally shot girlfriend, before killing roommate and himself

New details were released Monday following a murder-suicide over the weekend in southwest Miami-Dade. According to Miami-Dade police, Luis Napoles, 40, arrived at his girlfriend’s condominium complex Saturday night and shot her just outside her unit. She was identified by police Monday as 25-year-old Meghan Moore. Police confirmed that officers responded to the Windsor Ludlum Trail Apartments, located off Bird Road and Southwest 70th Avenue, just before 9 p.m. and found Moore’s body.
