Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said firefighters responded to the home in the 1300 block of 100th Street and found smoke coming from the “fully-engulfed” home. Crews began battling the flames and it was upgraded to a first alarm fire as they worked to protect nearby homes. Firefighters were able to get it under control and there were no reported injuries.

One person has died following a collision between a Brightline train and a pedestrian. It happened on Monday at approximately 9:12 p.m. in the area of Northeast Eller Street and Second Avenue in Deerfield Beach. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived to the scene with Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue crews and found a person who had been hit by the train.  The Florida Highway Patrol said an adult male motorcyclist died Monday evening following a three-vehicle collision at an intersection in Eustis. Troopers said the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. at Calhoun Road and Kine Drive in Lake County. According to the FHP, the wreck involved a 2016 Ford F-250, a motorcycle and a 2023 RAM ProMaster 3500 van. One person died in a three-vehicle crash at Oil Well Road and State Road 29 in Collier County Monday. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed they responded to the crash. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office said they responded as well. The crash caused road closures and major traffic delays, deputies said. According to FHP, a sedan being driven by a 22-year-old Bonita Springs man was approaching a stop sign while traveling west on Oil Well Road at the intersection of SR-29.

A 2-year-old boy died overnight after he was shot during a domestic dispute late Sunday at an apartment complex in the Hillcrest neighborhood of Jacksonville’s Westside, police said.
