Florida Highway Patrol says a 30-year-old man is dead after a head-on crash late Saturday night. Troopers say the man, of Jacksonville, was traveling east in the westbound lane along Northeast 53rd Terrace just after 11:30, when an approaching vehicle, coming from the opposite direction, hit it head on. A family of five is without a home after their mobile home was burned on Sunday morning. 9-1-1 callers reported pillars of black smoke coming from the home along Southwest 156th Place on Sunday. Marion County firefighters arrived around 8:30 a.m. and had the flames under control within 20 minutes. Nobody was injured, but five people are now without a home. Several crashes blocked lanes and snarled traffic on Interstate 95 southbound in Miami-Dade on Monday morning. The Florida Highway Patrol said troopers responded to three vehicle crashes with injuries on I-95 at the following locations: It was not immediately clear who was hurt, or what may have caused the collisions. A Florida gubernatorial candidate was arrested Friday after deputies say he assaulted two elderly relatives and threatened to kill them and deputies. A 33-year-old man was arrested Sunday in connection with a domestic violence stabbing that occurred in Homestead, police confirmed.
