A collision between a truck and train left a Tampa truck driver dead on Thursday, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said. The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on the train tracks off Kathleen Road, near Spivey Road in northwest Lakeland. The high-speed crash at a busy Pensacola intersection on Wednesday morning left an unborn baby dead, according to Pensacola police. Police say the crash happened at 7:27 a.m. at North Ninth Avenue and Bayou Boulevard when a southbound vehicle traveling on Ninth Avenue at a high rate of speed disregarded a red light at Bayou Boulevard and struck another vehicle on the driver’s side. The vehicle that was hit was occupied by a woman who was pregnant, according to police.

William Farhat, the division chief with Orange County Fire Rescue, said when crews arrived, they had to pry the woman’s door open and found structural instabilities in the building. Two people who were riding a scooter in Miami were injured Thursday afternoon in a crash, police confirmed.
