A fire broke out early Monday at Sapphire Winter Park apartments, displacing 13 residents, fire officials said. The fire was reported along Whitney Way off Howell Branch Road in Seminole County near Winter Park. Seminole County fire officials said one apartment was damaged by fire and another sustained water damage.  Sarasota police are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a vehicle and motorcycle that sent one person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 19-year-old Tampa man died after a crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 75 in Sumter County. He was driving a Honda Accord at 5:18 a.m. southbound on I-75 near Mile Marker 321 when a semi-truck tractor driven by a 35-year-old Rhode Island man, who was also southbound on I-75, experienced mechanical issues, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The Brief Flames were seen ripping through a home in DeBary on Saturday night. The fire happened at a home in the area of Bass Lake Drive. Deputies with the Volusia Sheriff’s Office were called out to the fire around 7:26 p.m. Video shows some of the strong winds from Saturday around Central Florida impacting the flames.
