Early on Wednesday morning in Walnut Hill, two semi trucks collided, resulting in one of them veering off the road and plowing through a mobile home.
The initial collision occurred around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 97 and North Highway 99. At this location, a semi-truck transporting construction equipment on a lowboy trailer encountered difficulties and was struck by another semi-truck carrying logs. The log-carrying truck continued south, left the road, and crashed directly into a mobile home, causing complete destruction. Thankfully, the occupants of the mobile home escaped injury. However, the driver of the log truck sustained injuries and had to be airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment.
Additionally, there were multiple rear-end collisions on Highway 97 as drivers attempted to navigate around the initial crash, resulting in injuries to four people.
