A bicyclist was airlifted to a hospital in Ocala after he was hit by a New York driver who fled the scene. The 66-year-old bicyclist, who is a resident of Bushnell, had been riding a bicycle and towing a trailer at about 9:30 p.m. Monday along County Road 476 just west of County Road 607B south of Bushnell, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. St. Petersburg police help a victim escape through a window during a duplex fire. Crews with St. Petersburg Fire Rescue (SPFR) responded to the structure fire at a one-story duplex about 9:30 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the building.
