A Pinellas County deputy was injured in a crash Thursday night, landing him and another driver in the hospital. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, an unidentified driver pulled out in front of the deputy, who was in a PCSO cruiser, causing the crash. A shooting in Tampa on Friday left one dead, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting around 4 a.m. on the block of Patina Drive in Tampa. According to HCSO, deputies arrived on the scene and located an adult male with upper body trauma. Life-saving measures were performed, but the victim died at the scene. A recycling facility in Plant City caught fire on Thursday, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. Fire crews were dispatched to the NuCycle Energy warehouse, located on South County Line Road in Plant City, to assist Plant City Fire Rescue with the “rapidly escalating” fire. A large cardboard recycling facility was found engulfed in heavy smoke, with debris on fire. Due to the extent of the fire, the response was upgraded to a two-alarm fire. Calhoun County Sheriff’s investigators are collecting evidence tonight in a fatal shooting. It happened around 7:00 p.m. Thursday at home on Schuman Ferry Road in the Schuman Ferry community, a few miles northwest of Blountstown.
