An SUV carrying five people crashed around 12:35 a.m. Sunday on I-295 just south of Merrill Road, killing a 1-year-old passenger. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the SUV was traveling north on I-295 when it ran off the road and hit a guardrail and several palm trees. One woman is dead and another has serious injuries after a crash in Levy County Friday night. Florida Highway Patrol troopers say around 11:45 p.m., a 62-year-old woman from Bronson was driving a pickup truck north on County Road 337. A 73-year-old woman from Michigan was driving a pickup truck southbound on the same road. Troopers say the 62-year-old drove her vehicle into the southbound lanes for an unknown reason, and struck the truck driven by the 73-year-old woman. FHP

A man is behind bars after police say he hit and killed two people in a crash Saturday afternoon in St. Petersburg. An 18-year-old Lehigh Acres woman was pronounced dead on the scene of a North Fort Myers crash Saturday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the young woman was driving east on Bayshore Road at around 11:25 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the roadway, rotated, and collided with a tree. The back end of the vehicle detached during the collision, striking an unoccupied SUV parked in the driveway at 1414 Lincoln Avenue.

 A 25-year-old Riverview man riding a motorcycle through Hillsborough County was killed in a crash Saturday night with a marked sheriff’s office SUV, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash occurred around 10:10 p.m. on US-301 at Ayersworth Glen Boulevard, troopers said. One person was seriously injured in a two-car crash on Sunday evening in Coconut Creek, police said. Coconut Creek police closed Lyons Road in both directions, south of the intersection with Atlantic Boulevard, following the crash just before 7 p.m. The injured person was taken to Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach, police said. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is currently investigating a crash that killed a 42-year-old North Port man Saturday afternoon. On Saturday, Dec. 9, a crash occurred between two North Port men at 2:50 p.m.; one driving a pickup truck and the other on a motorcycle. Both drivers were heading north on Collingswood Boulevard. As the truck driver slowed to turn left onto Elmwood Avenue, the motorcyclist went into the southbound lane in an attempt to pass him. According to FHP,

He was hit from behind while exiting the I-95 early Saturday. 2 Chainz posted a video of him being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher. Police suspect the other driver to have been under the influence. 2 Chainz was in the Miami area for Art Basel.

One person is dead and another was injured following an early Sunday morning crash involving an 18-wheeler truck in Broward County. Around 4:23 a.m., the Broward Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a crash with injuries near Southwest 10th Street and Powerline Road in Deerfield Beach, prompting deputies and Broward Fire Rescue to respond. Upon arrival, deputies learned that a vehicle and an 18-wheeler truck had collided. Paramedics pronounced the vehicle driver dead and Fire Rescue personnel transported the truck
